Solar systems contain batteries and they form an integral part of the system but what are they and how do they work? Understanding more about them will enable you to appreciate how the system operates.
1 .Throughout the day, your solar power system will use the energy of the sun to generate energy. As this is generated, it is then sent to the battery where it is stored in preparation for when it is needed.
2. The system contains very intelligent software that has been set up to identify what power to use and when. As there might be times where the battery is low in power, the software will manage the system and it will decide which power source is used between the grid or battery. This will enable you to maximise the use of solar energy and help you to save money.
3. Having the ability to store energy in the battery will mean that it is there for you when you need it. So, during the day as it is generating energy, it means that you can use the power stored within the battery. This will enable you to avoid using power from the grid and that makes it possible to offset your evening usage. Once the battery becomes depleted, electricity will be drawn from the grid again.
4. Another great aspect of having battery storage is that it can deal with power outages. They can often occur at inconvenient times but when you have power stored, you appliances can use this to continue to run. This will mean that your refrigerator will continue to run and you will be able to use other appliances in the same way although the more you use, the quicker the energy will be used up.
5. Should you find that your energy needs change, you can simply install more solar panels and increase your battery storage.
