Sunshine Coast Energy Conservation Communities.

A big factor contributing to rising energy costs is the infrastructure required to meet peak load – the energy required to power the short and infrequent periods of highest demand. For example the very hottest days of the year when people are home and all air conditioners are on.  To tackle this problem Energex has partnered with Sunshine Coast Council and the State government to offer incentives to reduce peak electricity demand.

Called the Sunshine Coast Energy Conservation Community the program offers financial and other incentives so householders can take energy efficiency measures. For example you can get a $250 gift card for switching your pool pump to an off peak tariff or installing a new 5 star rated pool pump.
